So far, we found very little information about Larissa. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Larissa to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. While we don't have the exact location of Larissa , we believe that it would have been located within present day Winston County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Larissa, you might consider that their post office opened in 1857.

Time Zone: The area where Larissa was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Larissa was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Larissa post office opened in 1857.

We also found Larissa in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
