Hale would have been located within present day Etowah County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Hale, you might consider that their post office opened in 1892.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Hale is 570 feet [174 m] above sea level.<3>.

Time Zone: The area where Hale was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

Note: If you travel east from Hale (for example, toward Etna (GA)), you will leave Central Time and cross into the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT).

We originally found mention of Hale in the GNIS. For more information, see the Referenced GNIS Codes section on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found (so far) for Hale was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the Hale post office opened in 1892. The Hale post office closed in 1905.
