Welcome to Devenport ...

So far, we found very little information about Devenport. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Devenport to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Devenport - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Devenport, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Devenport , we believe that it would have been located within present day Lowndes County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Devenport, you might get a feel for it by knowing that the earliest mention that we've found (so far) was in a book dated 1895.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Devenport was in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).

We also found Devenport on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Alabama (1911).
