Conecuh County was founded in 1818 and was created by taking area from Monroe County. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Conecuh had a population of 12,055 people. This is a decrease of 8.87% since the last Census (which gave a population of 13,228 people in 2010). At the time of the 2010 Census, Conecuh represented 0.28% of the total population of Alabama.
