The Commemorative Quarter for Alabama

Do you know of Alco ???

When we encounter a name that is new to us, we add it to our Gazetteer - that's the case with Alco.

This entry has been created as a placeholder - we hope to develop more information in the future.

This entry could be in error. It might be that our source had a mis-print, was simply wrong or we made a transcription error while referencing it. We hope to learn more about Alco in the future.

We found mention of Alco as a post office, but can't determine its location - other than being located somewhere in Escambia County, Alabama.

It's common that the post office is named the same as the community in which it's located (although that's not always case). In this case, we can't match this post office to any of the existing communities in our gazetteer.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Alco, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1888.
