The location of Progress has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Progress, you might consider that their post office opened in 1887. While the community is gone, the present day location for Progress is 900 feet [274 m] above sea level.<4>. Time Zone: The area where Progress was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time If Progress still existed, it would have been in the (304) & (681)<5> area codes.
