Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Leesburg had an population of 53,866 people. This is an increase of 26.4% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 90.27% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Leesburg had a population of 42,616 people (which is 13.65% of the total population of Loudoun County). This makes Leesburg the county's most populous community.

The population of Leesburg represents 0.53% of the population of Virginia (which has 8,001,024 people), making it the state's 17th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 42,616 people, the population of Leesburg increased 50.53% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 28,311 people).
