From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Dugwell was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the Dugwell post office opened in 1897.

We also found Dugwell on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Virginia (1911).
