While we don't have a date for the founding of Romero, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1908.

Romero is 4,120 feet [1,256 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the altitude of Romero is about ¾ mile [or 1¼ km] above sea level.

Time Zone: Romero lies in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

Note: If you travel west from Romero (for example, toward Mosquero (NM)), you will leave Central Time and cross into the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT).

We originally found mention of Romero in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Romero was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the Romero post office opened in 1908.

We also found Romero mentioned on a train schedule titled Trailways Santa Fe Bus Time Table (July 1945).
