Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Mason had an population of 2,315 people. This is an increase of 9.51% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 8.48% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Mason had a population of 2,114 people (which is 52.69% of the total population of Mason County). This makes Mason the county's most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 2,114 people, the population of Mason has remained roughly the same as the 2000 Census (which had a count of 2,134 people).

We originally found mention of Mason in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Mason was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Mason post office opened in 1858.

We also found Mason in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
