Emerald was located in Big Bend Country (West Texas). While we don't have the exact location of Emerald , we believe that it would have been located within present day Crockett County<2>. While we don't have a date for the founding of Emerald, you might consider that their post office opened in 1891. Time Zone: The area where Emerald was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time If Emerald still existed, it would have been in the (325) area code.
