At the time of the 2010 Census, Eagle Pass had a population of 26,248 people (or 48.38% of the total population of Maverick County). This makes Eagle Pass the county's most populous community.

The population of Eagle Pass represents 0.1% of the population of Texas (which has 25,145,561 people), making it the state's 103rd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 26,248 people, the population of Eagle Pass increased 17.11% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 22,413 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Eagle Pass was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Eagle Pass post office opened in 1852.

We also found Eagle Pass in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
