Chalk Mountain was located While we don't have the exact location of Chalk Mountain , we believe that it would have been located within present day Somervell County<2>. While we don't have a date for the founding of Chalk Mountain, you might consider that their post office opened in 1876. A typical abbreviation for Chalk Mountain: Chalk Mtn.
