Welcome to Askew ...

So far, we found very little information about Askew. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Askew to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. Askew was located in the Piney Woods (East Texas).

While we don't have the exact location of Askew , we believe that it would have been located within present day Hopkins County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Askew, you might consider that their post office opened in 1901.

Time Zone: The area where Askew was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

The location where Askew once stood is in the (903) and (430)<3> area codes.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Askew was on a map titled Map of Texas (from Rand McNally, 1911).

We also found Askew in the book titled .<4> From that list, the Askew post office opened in 1901.
