Welcome to Antioch ...So far, we found very little information about Antioch. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1> We've added Antioch to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. If you can help us with Antioch, please Contact Us. Antioch was located in the Piney Woods (East Texas). Antioch would have been located within present day Houston County<2>. The location of Antioch has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Antioch, you might consider that their post office opened in 1891. While the community is gone, the present day location for Antioch is 300 feet [91 m] above sea level.<4>. Time Zone: The area where Antioch was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time If Antioch still existed, it would have been in the (936) area code. Communities Also Named Antioch ...While we believe that this Antioch is located in Houston County, we know of another 10 Texas communities named Antioch. Those communities are located in the following counties: Brown, Cass, Delta, Henderson, Johnson, Madison, Panola, Rusk, Shelby and Smith County.
