The location of Russell has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Russell, you might consider that their post office opened in 1896. While the community is gone, the present day location for Russell is 1,610 feet [491 m] above sea level.<4>. Time Zone: The area where Russell was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time If Russell still existed, it would have been in the (864) area code.
