The location of Althouse has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Althouse, you might consider that their post office opened in 1877. While the community is gone, the present day location for Althouse is 1,420 feet [433 m] above sea level.<4>. Time Zone: The area where Althouse was located is in the Pacific Time Zone (PST/PDT) and observes daylight saving time If Althouse still existed, it would have been in the (541) & (458)<5> area codes.
