At the time of the 2010 Census, Chickasha had a population of 16,036 people (or 30.58% of the total population of Grady County). This makes Chickasha the county's most populous community.

The population of Chickasha represents 0.43% of the total population of Oklahoma (which has 3,751,351 people), making it the state's 31st most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 16,036 people, the population of Chickasha increased 1.17% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 15,850 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Chickasha was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Chickasha post office opened in 1892.

We also found Chickasha on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Oklahoma (1911).
