Welcome to Rose ...

So far, we found very little information about Rose. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Rose to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Rose - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Rose, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Rose , we believe that it would have been located within present day Carroll County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Rose, you might consider that their post office opened in 1840.

Time Zone: The area where Rose was located is in the Eastern Time Zone (EST/EDT) and observes daylight saving time

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 17 communities that are also named Rose - they are located in California, Florida (2), Georgia, Idaho (2), Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New York (2), North Carolina, Nova Scotia, Oklahoma and South Dakota.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Rose was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Rose post office opened in 1840.

We also found Rose in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
