How Far From Awakening to ...
We spend a lot of time looking through Gazetteers that were published in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Many of the Gazetteers include the distance from a community such as Awakening to various places of note, such as the White House.
With a nod to our favorite Gazetteers and using the location of where the historic<4> community of Awakening once stood, the straight-line distance<5> beginning in Awakening and extending to:
- Winnemucca, which is the Seat of Humboldt County, lies 30 miles [48.3 km]<5> to the south southeast. If you could walk a straight line from Awakening to Winnemucca, with an average speed<6> of 2.2 miles [3.5 km] per hour, it would take most of two days to make the trip.
