So far, we found very little information about Wallace. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>
We've added Wallace to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. While we don't have the exact location of Wallace , we believe that it would have been located within present day San Juan County<2>.
While we don't have a date for the founding of Wallace, you might consider that their post office opened in 1879.
Time Zone: The area where Wallace was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time
If Wallace still existed, it would have been in the (505) area code.

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are two New Mexico communities named Wallace: This one is located in San Juan County and the other is located in Bernalillo County.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Wallace was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>
From that list, the Wallace post office opened in 1879.
