Orange is located in Otero County<1>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Orange, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1904.

When the people of Orange refer to themselves (known as a demonym), they frequently use Orangeite<2>

Communities Also Named Orange ...

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are two New Mexico communities named Orange: This one is located in Otero County and the other is located in Dona Ana County.

Beyond New Mexico, there are 29 communities that are also named Orange - they are located in Alabama, California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas (3), Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi (2), Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio (3), Pennsylvania, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Orange was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Orange post office opened in 1904.
