Welcome to Mangas ...So far, we found very little information about Mangas. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1> We've added Mangas to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. If you can help us with Mangas, please Contact Us. Mangas would have been located within present day Catron County<2>. The location of Mangas has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Mangas, you might consider that their post office opened in 1909. While the community is gone, the present day location for Mangas is 7,370 feet [2,246 m] above sea level.<4> In other words, the elevation of Mangas is about 1½ mile [or 2¼ km] above sea level. Time Zone: The area where Mangas was located is in the Mountain Time Zone (MST/MDT) and observes daylight saving time Note: If you travel west from Mangas (for example, toward Springerville (AZ)), you will leave Mountain Time and cross into the Mountain Standard Time Zone (MST). In addition, you will be moving from an area that observes daylight saving time to one that does not. If Mangas still existed, it would have been in the (575) area code.
