Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Ruth had an population of 399 people. This is a decrease of 9.32% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 21.28% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Ruth had a population of 440 people. This makes Ruth the county's 6th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 440 people, the population of Ruth increased 33.74% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 329 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Ruth was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Ruth post office opened in 1906.
