The location of Sedan has been provided by the Geographic Names Information System (ie- the GNIS).<3> While we don't have a date for the founding of Sedan, you might consider that their post office opened in 1891. While the community is gone, the present day location for Sedan is 970 feet [296 m] above sea level.<4>. Time Zone: The area where Sedan was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time If Sedan still existed, it would have been in the (417) area code.
