Welcome to Phenix (aka 'Phenix Quarry') ...

So far, we found very little information about Phenix. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Phenix was located in the Missouri Ozarks.

Phenix would have been located within present day Greene County<2>.



While we don't have a date for the founding of Phenix, you might consider that their post office opened  in 1886.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Phenix is 1,020 feet [311 m] above sea level.<3>.

Time Zone: The area where Phenix was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

If Phenix still existed, it would have been in the (417) area code.

The community of Phenix has also been called Phenix Quarry.

We originally found mention of Phenix in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Phenix was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<6>

From that list, the Phenix post office opened in 1886.

We also found Phenix in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
