Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Free Soil had an population of 145 people. This is an increase of 0.69% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 18.08% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Free Soil had a population of 144 people. This makes Free Soil the county's 5th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 144 people, the population of Free Soil decreased 18.64% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 177 people).
