Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Bangor had an population of 1,819 people. This is a decrease of 3.5% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 5.9% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Bangor had a population of 1,885 people. This makes Bangor the county's 6th most populous community.

The population of Bangor represents 0.02% of the population of Michigan (which has 9,883,640 people), making it the state's 261st most populous community.
