With a 2010 count of 121 people, the population of Monroe increased 30.11% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 93 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Monroe was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the Monroe post office opened in 1828.

We also found Monroe in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
