From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Sand Spur was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the Sand Spur post office opened in 1900.

We also found Sand Spur on a map titled Rand McNally Map of Louisiana (1911).
