So far, we found very little information about Hollis. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Hollis to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. While we don't have the exact location of Hollis , we believe that it would have been located within present day Cloud County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Hollis, you might consider that their post office opened in 1885.

Time Zone: The area where Hollis was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

Hollis would have been located in the (785) area code.

We originally found mention of Hollis in the FIPS-55 file. For more information, see the Referenced FIPS Codes section on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Hollis was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Hollis post office opened in 1885.

We also found Hollis in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
