From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for New Mount Pleasant was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the New Mount Pleasant post office opened in 1839.

We also found New Mount Pleasant in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (Oct. 1846).
