So far, we found very little information about West Scott. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

While we don't have the exact location of West Scott , we believe that it would have been located within present day Buena Vista County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of West Scott, you might consider that their post office opened in 1877.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned West Scott was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the West Scott post office opened in 1877.

We also found West Scott in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
