Welcome to Star ...

So far, we found very little information about Star. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

We've added Star to our Gazetteer with the hope that we can develop more information. We would especially like to find the location of Star - knowing its coordinates, we can explore things like its relationship to neighboring communities, nearby cemeteries, etc. If you can help us with Star, please Contact Us.

While we don't have the exact location of Star , we believe that it would have been located within present day Marion County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Star, you might consider that their post office opened in 1867.

Time Zone: The area where Star was located is in the Central Time Zone (CST/CDT) and observes daylight saving time

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are 29 communities that are also named Star - they are located in Alabama, Alberta, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas (3), Louisiana (3), Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri (2), Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma (2), Ontario, Tennessee, Texas (2), Virginia, West Virginia (2) and Wisconsin.

Adding Star to Our Gazetteer ...

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Star was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Star post office opened in 1867.

We also found Star in the book titled List of Post Offices in the United States (1870).
