So far, we found very little information about Midland. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

While we don't have the exact location of Midland , we believe that it would have been located within present day Tama County<2>.
While we don't have a date for the founding of Midland, you might consider that their post office opened in 1888.
When the people of Midland referred to themselves (known as a demonym), they are believed to have used Midlander<3>

Using our Gazetteer, we found that there are two Iowa communities named Midland: This one is located in Tama County and the other is located in Lyon County.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Midland was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<4>
From that list, the Midland post office opened in 1888.
We also found Midland in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).
