We originally found mention of Ford in the GNIS. For more information, see the Referenced GNIS Codes section on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Ford was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<5>

From that list, the Ford post office opened in 1880.

We also found Ford in the book titled Sixth Biennial Report of the State Mine Inspectors, Two Years Ending June 30, 1893.
