From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Wheeler was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>
From that list, the Wheeler post office opened in 1884.
We also found Wheeler on a map (with an unknown title) dated 1895.
