Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Fowler had an population of 1,148 people. This is a decrease of 2.88% since the 2010 Census (or a decrease of 4.81% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Fowler had a population of 1,182 people (or 6.28% of the total population of Otero County). This makes Fowler the county's 3rd most populous community.

The population of Fowler represents 0.02% of the total population of Colorado (which has 5,029,196 people), making it the state's 136th most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,182 people, the population of Fowler decreased 1.99% from the 2000 Census (with a count of 1,206 people).

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Fowler was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<7>

From that list, the Fowler post office opened in 1890.
