Welcome to Canyon Diablo ...

So far, we found very little information about Canyon Diablo. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

Canyon Diablo was located within the Navajo Nation.

Canyon Diablo would have been located within present day Coconino County<2>.



While we don't have a date for the founding of Canyon Diablo, you might get a feel for it by knowing that during our research the earliest mention that we found (so far) was in a book dated 1895.

While the community is gone, the present day location for Canyon Diablo is 5,430 feet [1,655 m] above sea level.<3> In other words, the elevation of Canyon Diablo is about 1 mile [or ~1¾ km] above sea level.

Time Zone: The area where Canyon Diablo was located is in the Mountain Standard Time Zone (MST) and does not observe daylight saving time

If Canyon Diablo still existed, it would have been in the (928) area code.

We originally found mention of Canyon Diablo in both the FIPS-55 and the GNIS. For more information, see the FIPS and GNIS Codes sections on our Miscellaneous Page.

From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Canyon Diablo was in the book titled Business Atlas and Shippers' Guide (1895).

We also found Canyon Diablo on a map titled Shell Oil Road Map for Arizona (1956).
