From our notes, the earliest published mention we've found for Artesia was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<4>

From that list, the Artesia post office opened in 1912.

We also found Artesia on a map titled Shell Oil Road Map for Arizona (1951).
