Boone County was founded in 1847. Boone was created by taking area from Cabell, Kanawha and Logan Counties. From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Boone had a population of 21,352 people. This is a decrease of 13.31% since the last Census (which gave a population of 24,629 people in 2010).
