Moore County was founded in 1876 and was created by taking area from Bexar County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Moore had a population of 20,931 people. This is a decrease of 4.44% since the last Census (which gave a population of 21,904 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Moore represented 0.09% of the total population of Texas.
