Eastland County was founded in 1858. Eastland was created by taking area from Bosque, Coryell and Travis Counties.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Eastland had a population of 18,360 people. This is a decrease of 1.26% since the last Census (which gave a population of 18,594 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Eastland represented 0.07% of the total population of Texas.
