The community of Lebanon is the Seat for Wilson County.

Wilson County was founded in 1799 and was created by taking area from Sumner County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Wilson had a population of 144,657 people. This is an increase of 26.14% since the last Census (which gave a population of 114,677 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Wilson represented 1.81% of the total population of Tennessee.
