Tioga County was founded March 26, 1804 and was created by taking area from Lycoming County.
From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Tioga had a population of 40,591 people. This is a decrease of 3.29% since the last Census (which gave a population of 41,974 people in 2010).
At the time of the 2010 Census, Tioga represented 0.33% of the total population of Pennsylvania.
