So far, we found very little information about Cherokee Town. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

While we don't have the exact location of Cherokee Town , we believe that it would have been located within present day Garvin County<2>.

While we don't have a date for the founding of Cherokee Town, you might consider that their post office opened in 1874.

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Cherokee Town was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<3>

From that list, the Cherokee Town post office opened in 1874.
