The community of Reserve is the Seat for Catron County.

Catron County was founded in 1921 and was created by taking area from Socorro County.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Catron had a population of 3,527 people. This is a decrease of 5.9% since the last Census (which gave a population of 3,748 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Catron represented 0.18% of the total population of New Mexico.
