Bergen County is one of the original counties of New Jersey and was founded in 1683.

From the Census Estimates for 2019, <1> Bergen had a population of 932,202 people. This is an increase of 2.86% since the last Census (which gave a population of 906,284 people in 2010).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Bergen represented 10.31% of the total population of New Jersey.
