So far, we found very little information about Waynesborough. The little that we've found leads us believe that the community is historic.<1>

The earliest source we've referenced which mentioned Waynesborough was in the document titled List of Post Offices from Cameron Blevins and Richard Helbock.<2>

From that list, the Waynesborough post office opened in 1793.

We also found Waynesborough in the book titled U.S. Post Offices (1803).
