Taken from the 2019 Census Estimates, Kamiah had an population of 1,246 people. This is a decrease of 3.78% since the 2010 Census (or an increase of 7.41% since the 2000 Census).

At the time of the 2010 Census, Kamiah had a population of 1,295 people (which is 7.96% of the total population of Idaho County). This makes Kamiah the county's most populous community.

The population of Kamiah represents 0.08% of the population of Idaho (which has 1,567,582 people), making it the state's 73rd most populous community.

With a 2010 count of 1,295 people, the population of Kamiah increased 11.64% from the 2000 Census (which had a count of 1,160 people).
